VFX Movies

Like an Eagle, Piloting a Blimp

Description: This project combines so much that I’ve learned: the 3D modeling/animation software Blender, manually tracking a 3D model to my hands, adding glow effects, animating loops, physics simulations, impact frames, and much more. I’m so proud of this creation, and it looks awesome.

Description: This project started basic but soon grew much more complex. I tracked a checkered opacity layer to the ground, learned how to animate through the rigging, looped animations, tracked 3d cameras, created shadow catchers, simulated lighting, and re-calculated vertexes. The final product is really impressive and I’m super happy with how it came out.

MARIOCART in REAL Life!

Description: This was made from my love of Mario Kart and my newfound knowledge of 3D shadows. I used many of the tricks I learned in the past and figured out some on my own. I learned simple tracking/parenting and learned how to use Photoshop tools to help create simple images like craters that fit in with the scene.

Woah

“Woah”

I Got Bored so I Edited my Friends into Blade Runner 2049

Description: This was my introduction to using a virtual camera with Adobe After Effects. It allows for really cool parallax effects and paired with some Photoshop I’m proud of how this turned out. I chose Blade Runner as the theme as me and camp friends had stayed up all night watching 2049 and loved it.

The Coolest Edit I Have Ever Done

Description: This was the first time I “invented” my own VFX shot. I lined up a miniature car pulled by an invisible string on green fabric with my pre-shot footage. This project was my first big failure but, after restarting from scratch, became my first-ever comeback.

If Thanos was Part of the 50% that Got Snapped

Description: This was my first ever time putting together different effects that I learned. I used Adobe After Effects to recolor my skin, remove the background, add a colored glow to my outline, create the surrounding background void, and fade into dust. While the fading away was made by following a tutorial, all the rest was figured out by me which I’m proud of.

Apple vs. US Gov | Thor Meme but I Animated it in Blender

Description: This was my first animated project using Blender. I previously followed a 20-hour tutorial to learn the very basics of the app by making a donut. The fire effect was made in After Effects along with added sound effects and whatnot.

The Meaning of Life in Under 30 Seconds

Description: This is my second animation of Blender. My overall goal and reason for learning Blender was to make fake things seem real and add to reality. This was my first attempt at doing that. I’m happy with what I was able to make but I could have done better job at telling a story or just giving sustenance to this video.

How to Throw a Snowball

Description: This was made 3 days after finishing the car flip. It was another effect that I thought of in my mind and just tried making it. I used Rotobrush to cut myself out and put it over footage of me getting hit and it looked great. I had an absolute blast making this and I was so happy with the result.

He’s Not Getting His Shoe Back Lmao

Lever Activates

Description: This was an attempt to learn 3D tracking, and in the end, it turned out okay. I learned from this what is possible to track and what isn’t along with realizing I would need to use 3D models to make fake elements look real at changing pov angles.

How to *not* Kick a Ball

Description: This was done to make me more comfortable with Adobe After Effects. I found a tutorial online and then went with it. I’m glad with how it came out but not proud as it wasn’t “my” creation.

Smashing Plates

Description: This was a gag video I made to scare my physics teacher, I masked out each of the plates and artificially moved them. There is a hidden cut as one of my friends steps in and grabs all the plates and cups and moves them off the blanket.

Fixing a Gaming Setup

Description: This was inspired by a video I saw online of someone setting up their computer with really smooth cuts and hidden transitions. I took this idea and I thought it would be fun to try and make toys come to life, I’m proud of how it came out. I used a multitude of techniques: hidden cuts, masking, stop-motion, masking, and ai-interpolation.

Walking on Walls!

Description: This was a cool effect, I used the morph transition and cut between two shots of my walking on the floor. All that was left was manual rotation and motion of the clip. It came out okay and I learned a lot about morphing transitions along with what can and can’t be morphed.
